How to Calculate Your BMI
To accurately determine if you are underweight, overweight, obeses or of normal weight, be sure to make use of the Body Mass Index.
How do you calculate your BMI? It’s pretty simple. First, you need to determine your mass in either kilos or pounds. You also need to get your height in either meters, inches of feet. Of course if you’re going to use kilos for your mass, you should make use of meters for your height because both are SI units of measurement as compared to pounds, inches and feet which are imperial units.
To calculate your BMI if in SI Units, divide your mass (in kilos) by the square of your height (in meters).
To calculate your BMI in Imperial units, multiply your mass (in pounds) by 703 and divide the result by the square of your height (in inches) or multiply your mass (in pounds) by 4.88 and divide the result by the square of your height (in feet).
